Getting To Know AC Dave of AC Dave Heating & Air
I have been in the HVAC industry off and on since I was 16. In 2005 we moved to Lake Elizabeth I had always wanted to have my own business. We began researching, and it seemed as if finding reliable services in the Lakes and Valleys was impossible. Either people would make appointments and fail to show up or in particular, perform substandard work.
As a result, we had a family meeting that involved our daughter, myself, and my wife (who became known as AC Wife). We agreed that we had something to offer our community and were willing to do this together.
Getting AC Dave Off the Ground
My daughter Brianna helped me get the necessary paperwork together to open our doors. For example, our DBA, which came from a nickname I was given, ‘A/C Dave.’ Along with my business license etc. We knew we wanted to be a home-based business. We set up an office and I bought a truck, hired a helper and, on June 1, 2006, we officially opened the doors to AC Dave Heating & Air.

Our motto is “Commitment to Quality and Customer Service.” I am involved in every aspect of every job. Furthermore, I wanted AC Dave Heating & Air to reflect all the great things I learned over the years. In particular, customer satisfaction, which is our #1 priority. In addition to honesty and pride in my workmanship.
Our Community
Since 2006, we have continued to be family-owned & operated. Living in a small community, I knew how important it was to be part of it. We advertised in the “Yoddeler”, our local town newspaper, and got involved with local events such as 49’er days. Our local hangout, The Heart N Soul, a local eatery and place where people gathered, owned back then by Kat & Warren BeMiller, w got to know the town-folk, and they got to know all of us. That was the beginning and we still support local events and put on small events of our own.
We Expanded
When my grandson Dean was old enough, he would accompany me on service calls. He became my little helper. Now he’s in the office and works with Daniel, Brianna’s autistic son. As the company grew, we did too. We currently, have three trucks, three technicians, three office staff members, and one advertising consultant.
Life Altering Moment
In 2014, my oldest daughter Brianna, who suffered with mental illness and addiction, was killed by a semi-truck on Highway 138 near Llano, CA. She was walking along the highway, and the driver was not watching the road. I did not want her remembered as just another person who died in the desert but as the giving person she was. If my mother-in-law loaned her a jacket, and she would return without it because “someone needed it more”. When she had a place to stay she took people in.
BBMS Happy Children Memorial Fund
Our family started a nonprofit in 2018, whose mission is to help families in recovery and victims of domestic violence. We have assisted over 50 families with toys, clothes, food, diapers, and complete holiday meals. We host two fundraisers a year. One in April, around the anniversary of our daughters passing (March 30th), and in October, the month she was born. Our nonprofit BBMS Happy Children Memorial Fund honors my daughter’s memory of helping others. If you know someone who could use assistance, email bbmshappychildren@gmail.com.
Brianna graduated from Valencia High School. She was the first 4-year graduating class. In 2025, we will be working with Valencia HS to assist with tux rentals, gowns, flowers, and prom tickets for seniors who have been affected by domestic violence or addiction.

I am honored to be of service to my community. If you need your HVAC serviced we repair all brands. We also provide installation services, we work with ductless split systems, evaporative coolers, wifi thermostats, iWave air purifiers, and more. Our focus is mostly residential, but we also have commercial Customers. Furthermore, we guarantee all of our work. AC Dave offers 2-year parts and a 1-year labor warranty on most jobs.
