Let’s Ask AC Dave of AC Dave Heating & Air

There are many common questions customers ask. Let’s ask AC Dave of AC Dave Heating & Air

How often do I need to change my filters?

This must be one of the most common questions customers ask at AC Dave Heating & Air. Typically AC Dave recommends changing your filter at least twice a year. However, the answer to this questions varies, depending on the situation.

  1. High dust or polluted areas

If you live in an area with high dust, dirt, or air pollution (Such as fires), your HVAC filters will become clogged faster. This can also be the case if there is ongoing construction or if you have unsealed air ducts.

2. Pet Owners

Homes with pets tend to accumulate more hair and dander, which can quickly clog filters, create smells, and reduce HVAC efficiency. Pet dander can also be a health issue, so it is imperative that you change filters more often.

3. Allergies or Respiratory Issues

If anyone in your household has allergies, asthma, or respiratory problems, you will need to change filters more often to ensure cleaner air.

4. High HVAC Usage

If your system is in high demand – whether due to extreme weather conditions or constant use – Your filters will clog up faster, necessitating more frequent changes.

In any of the above situations, AC Dave Heating & Air recommends changing your filters every three months. If you cannot change your own filters and need your HVAC system ready for the season, call our office and schedule maintenance. Tel:661 270 1961.
