Weather prevents technicians from going on calls

Adverse weather prevents HVAC technicians from going on calls
When the HEAT is on!

Weather conditions play a crucial role in the safety, accuracy, and efficiency of inspections and installations. Heat is one factor that affects technicians and prevents him/her from carrying out a quality service. Working in attics where temperatures exceed 85-90 degrees, can be torturous for anyone. It can cause lightheadedness, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke. Working on rooftops also poses similar issues, which can further impact a technician’s safety.

High winds will delay your scheduled appointment.

On windy days, the strong gusts can affect the accuracy of airflow measurements during an HVAC inspection. Technicians need to consider wind direction and speed to ensure proper ventilation and system performance. Severe windy conditions can cause flying debris, and falling trees, and endanger technicians. If the conditions are too bad we will reschedule your appointment to the next available time.

Rainy days are a big “No, no” unless it’s an inside job!

Rainy weather can pose unique challenges during HVAC inspections and installations. Technicians need to be extra cautious to prevent water damage to the system and ensure all electrical components are properly protected. There is also the added concern of electrocution! When the weather becomes too dangerous for our technicians, all outdoor calls will be rescheduled. The safety of our technicians is paramount.

The chill can affect the will.

Technicians are willing to work in most conditions. There are, however, exceptions to the rule. Low temperatures can affect the functionality of tools and equipment.  This makes it difficult to get the job done.

When the thunder rolls.

When thunder roars and lightning strikes, it’s time for technicians to take cover. Working outdoors in a thunderstorm exposes technicians to unnecessary danger. Heavy rain and strong winds can also make the work environment hazardous, potentially leading to accidents or injuries. Power outages can also cause major disruptions, knocking out the power which will bring any HVAC job to a halt.

Their safety is our #1 priority

AC Dave Heating & Air has been dedicated to our customer satisfaction since 2006, however, our priority must be the safety of our technicians. So please understand that if our office contacts you to reschedule due to adverse weather conditions, it is to protect the well-being of our technicians and the quality of work they perform on your equipment.

We thank you for your patience during the Mid-winter and summer seasons. If you want to schedule a service call before the weather gets too hot or too cold, please call: 661 270 1961

Why can it take so long?

Why can it take so long?

Scheduling with your local HVAC company
It is officially Summer, with warmer days (and nights). Spending more time at the pool. You want to be cool when you come indoors from the pool, however, you find your unit not working. Therefore, you call your HVAC company only to find their schedule is full.  That last part might not be on the list of anyone looking forward to summertime, but it’s accurate. You may be asking, Why can it take so long?
Most people tend to not think about their HVAC, evaporative cooler, heat pumps, or ductless split units until they aren’t working. The first thing they think of is let’s call the HVAC company! Well…as I said most people don’t think about their units until something is wrong. In the same way with rising temperatures, air conditioning units tend to break down as they work harder to cool homes.
For one thing, this means long busy days for techs who are working in the hot temperatures to fix or replace units. This results in longer wait times for the air conditioner to be repaired or replaced.

Why does it take so long? I have a pre-paid maintenance plan

Home maintenance customers can fall victim to this surge in broken A/C units, too! Although it can be frustrating for a homeowner to not have their air conditioner fixed on the same day they call in for service, it’s all part of the season. Here’s why you may not get same-day service for your HVAC unit and what you can do.

WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG?

Our Technicians Schedule

When a homeowner/customer calls AC Dave Heating & Air, they may be surprised, or even frustrated, when they find the schedule for the day is full. to get an experienced technician out to their home. AC Dave Heating & Air understands this frustration, and we know how uncomfortable it can be when it’s hot in your home! All HVAC technicians know this, too, and try to help as much as possible and are working long hours to help keep you comfortable. Our goal is to provide quality service, therefore, we must keep our technician’s safety utmost when it comes to rising temperatures.

Why does it take so long?            I’m just around the corner

HVAC companies schedule, by area, by need (if your unit is on the roof we may need to get there first thing in the morning for the safety of our technicians, installations of unit replacements take a day maybe two that will fill up the schedule also. Their appointments include people who have already called and scheduled appointments for a diagnosis. Sometimes technicians must return to homes the tech has already visited that need an AC repair or full replacement.

When scheduling our technicians, we plan ahead and make sure that if in a certain area, on a certain day, we maximize the number of air conditioning units they can repair in a day. (It allows us to provide service to more customers and is much more effective to drive a few blocks to several different houses than to spend an hour driving back and forth between cities to repair or diagnose two air conditioning units.)

With our Pre-paid maintenance agreement customers, we generally plan for those calls months in advance. This is just another benefit we offer to our maintenance clientele. When emergencies, should arise. If the client in question is elderly, infirm, or has young children, we do our best to squeeze them into our already busy schedules. In the same way, we know heat can play a devastating role for these people.

What You Can Do

If you are not in an emergency situation but your air conditioner is out, there are a number of things you can do to stay cool.  As you wait for your HVAC unit to be repaired or replaced this includes: drinking lots of water to stay hydrated, staying in cool parts of your home, and using fans and dampened cloths. AC Dave Heating & Air has made a list of things you can use to cool down while you wait to make yourself more comfortable. Use these tips to prevent dehydration, keep yourself healthy, and keep cool. We will have your HVAC up and running soon!

10 Foods To Reduce Body Heat

10 foods to reduce body heat.

AC Dave Heating & Air finds 10 foods to reduce body heat. These cool tips were found in Pharmeasy, a site that covers interesting topics.

1: Coconut Water.

The best drink during summer. Coconut water naturally has cooling properties that can help you fight against this year’s scorching summer. It can hydrate your body and thus balances the temperature-generating electrolytes naturally. Coconut water due to its malai content is always sweet. You can drink the water and apply the left-out malai on your face, to give a cooling effect to your face.

2: Buttermilk.

This healthy drink contains essential probiotics, vitamins, and minerals to keep our bodies cool even in extreme heat. Drinking buttermilk daily or maybe twice a day can help to cool down your body. Try drinking a glass of cold buttermilk to restore your energy and naturally cool your body.

3: Aloe Vera.

The natural cooling agent. It has a commendable effect when it comes to reducing body heat internally and externally. The gel can be applied to the skin and you will experience the cooling effect in no time. Or you can mix the aloe vera gel extract with cucumber or mint and blend it to form a smooth mixture. Drink it and feel the coolness running inside your body.

4: Mint.

Mint is usually added to food or drinks to neutralize the heat effect on the body. It also provides an excellent cooling effect too. Adding mint to buttermilk, or lemon water can benefit you more. Making a mint tea, mixed with local honey can also reduce seasonal allergies.

5: Watermelon.

Watermelon is another fruit that is plentiful here in the USA. As well as the water contained in drinking watermelon, which is as high as 92%, it will also prevent dehydration and if consumed regularly, it too can help control your body heat. There are a number of fruits that blend nicely with this abundant fruit. or why not also freeze Watermelon into popsicles, which is a delicious treat for both the young and old.

6: Cucumbers.

As well as watermelons, cucumbers also have a high amount of water content. Not only that but are loaded with fiber, which can help relieve constipation, one of the common problems faced during summer or when your body heat increases. Cucumber is not only commonly used in salads but also intense facial treatments to soothe the eyes. Since it contains 95% water, it helps reduce excess calories in the body too. A perfect summer partner!

7: Chilli.

Yes, you read it right! We will be talking about our spicy little chilies in this section. But the truth is that peppers can help you lower your body temperature. According to research, capsaicin is the active ingredient found in chili peppers. When consumed, it sends a message to the brain indicating that your body is overheating and sweating more than usual, thereby producing a cooling effect. Interesting isn’t it?

8: Lemon Water.

Research has shown that lemon being rich in Vitamin C can help lower body temperature. Furthermore, it can moisturize and oxygenates the body, to help improve energy and feel fresh during summers. It is also one of the important parts of our homemade electrolyte. To make lemon juice, squeeze the juice of half a lemon, add a pinch of salt and  ½ tsp of sugar (depending on your taste), and mixed it with cold water. This way, you add all the ingredients that can work as a natural electrolyte for your body.

9: Onions.

It is surprising to know that even onions have a cooling effect. Well, it’s considered to be rich in quercetin, which acts as an anti-allergen. It is also beneficial to protect you from sunstroke. You can have them in the raw form by adding lemon and a touch of salt or add them to salads, raitas or sandwiches, etc.
